Become a Member of the Play Community

The National Institute for Play is a 501(c)3 non-profit public benefit corporation committed to bringing the unrealized knowledge, practices and benefits of play into public life. It is gathering research from diverse play scientists and practitioners, initiating projects to expand the clinical scientific knowledge of human play and translating this emerging body of knowledge into programs and resources, which deliver the transformative power of play to all segments of society.

When you give to the National Institute for Play you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to contribute to advancing the science of play and helping society understand, appreciate and experience the benefits of playing throughout the lifecycle. We are active in promoting public policy and grass roots action on the play issues that matter to you most. Thank you for your contribution.

Membership Dues         $45/year

Benefits, on an annual basis, include:


1. Six issues of our newsletter The Science of Play
2. Participation in four teleconferences with Scientific Advisors
3. Participation in two teleconferences with Dr. Stuart Brown
4. Access to a member's only blog

Where do your membership dues go? Two-thirds of membership dues go directly to the National Institute for Play’s research (pre-NIH grant for brain imaging research at Alexian Brothers Brain Imaging Center in Chicago, IL) and to support the individual science advisory research activities; and one third goes to NIFP operating expenses. The NIFP is a 501(c)3 organization. Memberships and contributions are tax-deductible.
